Katie Jahner carries the lessons she learned growing up on intimate yet eclectic Whidbey Island, Washington, close to her heart.  A small-town upbringing combined with studying abroad in Costa Rica as a teenager and serving as a missionary in Montreal, Canada for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have given Katie a unique set of life experiences which continue to inspire her artwork.  She fills her non-studio time with a number of ‘adventures’ which most recently include moving across the country to New Jersey with her husband and being a stay-at-home mom to her new (beautiful!) baby girl. Katie recently finished her BFA in ceramics at Brigham Young University, along with her K-12 art education teaching endorsement.  She looks forward to making art and pursuing an MFA in the future.
